I have some stuff to blog about, just haven't gotten a few moments to really blog, been too busy trying to get some things done. Hope to be a little more consistent this week! :)
Recipe Inspirations:
Grilled Pesto Shrimp sounds delicious. However, I am trying the Paleo Diet, not for a diet, but because I thought it might help my stomach, which it has. Anywho, dairy is a general no-no in the Paleo Diet, has anyone tried to make a pesto without cheese? Does it taste similar? I am considering trying this general Vegan version of Pesto. I assume it won't make too much of a difference.
Since I will be eating meat more often, I am looking for more variety. Ethiopian Chicken sounds delicious and flavorful!
I am also trying different kinds of nuts, since they are healthy and tend to be a good snack. The choices in the store for nuts with some flavor are few and far between, so I want to learn how to make homemade.
~Basic Roasted Nuts and Seeds
~Cinnamon Roasted Almonds.
~Honey Roasted Almonds
~Cajun Spiced Nuts - - Cajun Spice Mix
~Asian Spiced Nuts - wonder how this would work without the soy sauce.
~Rosemary Roasted Nuts
~Chai Spiced Almonds
~Sugar and Spiced Candied Nuts
~Orange Spiced Nuts

Sunday Inspirations
Inspirational Sayings:
~ I very much believe in this saying. If only more people followed suit.
~ This quote is also a good one, but more importantly isn't the PUPPY in this way past adorable???? I so want one of these for a second dog when we get a house.
Inspirational Food:
When I was out in Washington State visiting my family, I went to a farmer's market with my sister Echo after we went to a Zumba class and found a stall with Aldrich Farms and the sauces looked interesting. We were able to taste the flavors he had there and the gentleman who helped us was incredibly nice and helpful. I bought a few kinds, but some didn't make it being shipped back here. What made it was the Sweet and Hot Jelly which is tasty, I have tried it as a glaze on fish. The other one that made it was a Jalapeno Mustard which they don't seem to have on the site, it was delicious. I tried buying something that looked comparative in a grocery store and wasn't anywhere near as good.
Inspirational Recipes:
In line with the above inspiration, this Peach Jalapeno Jam sounds delicious!
These Egg Florentine Cups sound delicious and not something I would have thought of.
In my diet, I need to think of a bigger variety of ways to eat meat, since I will be eating more of it. Bacon Topped Turkey Loaf sounds good, tasty, and it would only have to be adjusted a little to make it worked for my food needs.
This has been a very hot and humid summer with very little rain. Slightly frozen fruit has been my go to for something cold to snack on. So these Frozen Fruit Pops fall into something that would be a tasty treat . . . I'll be leaving out the additional sugar though.
With the next recipe, it's more the add-ons that pull me in. Bacon Burgers with Bacon Onion Balsamic Jam . . . doesn't that sound to die for . . . the Bacon Onion Balsamic Jam part! Oh, I can just imagine that one some chicken or with shredded roast!

Mud fight anyone?
Warning, this post is very picture heavy.
Sorry to disappear for a month! I had two weeks of vacation, one I went to Washington State and visited my sisters and their families, and the second week I stayed home and relaxed with the husband who also had that week off. The last two weeks have been a chaos of work, overtime, and way too hot weather . . . so that's why I haven't been online. It's cooled down, out of the 90s with horrible things like 80% humidity!
But that's not fun to hear about, lets talk about my first night in Washington State and the mud fight. Everyone loves a good mud fight right?
Once I convinced my nieces, Justice and Vera, that yes, it was okay to throw mud at me, they went for it!
But I got them too!
Such fun!
Mud fights help boost confidence in strong little girls!
And are also good for a laugh or two!
Of course I had to convince the girls to go get their mom, my sister Echo!
She tried to bring out the MOM VOICE, but the fun AUNT VOICE was louder. You can see to the sidelines we have little Liam and Daddy. We did set some rules, so they were safe.
Isn't he just adorable? He's plotting his future mud fights.
Of course I had to show the girls that they really could get their mom, by of course going after her myself.
As you can see, she enjoyed it, right?
Right?
Even, Uncle John, got caught up in the action. Unfortunately, he got one of the little mud clumps that had a rock in it. Those were highly unpleasant.
After a good mud fight, what is needed?
A good bath of course!
Even Zero, the dog, was interested in what was going on.
Everyone had an interesting time . . .
and a fun time . . .
and a crazy time!
I learned a very valuable lesson . . . some 9 year old little girls have scary good aim! It was a blast though!
