I have some stuff to blog about, just haven't gotten a few moments to really blog, been too busy trying to get some things done. Hope to be a little more consistent this week! :)
Recipe Inspirations:
Grilled Pesto Shrimp sounds delicious. However, I am trying the Paleo Diet, not for a diet, but because I thought it might help my stomach, which it has. Anywho, dairy is a general no-no in the Paleo Diet, has anyone tried to make a pesto without cheese? Does it taste similar? I am considering trying this general Vegan version of Pesto. I assume it won't make too much of a difference.
Since I will be eating meat more often, I am looking for more variety. Ethiopian Chicken sounds delicious and flavorful!
I am also trying different kinds of nuts, since they are healthy and tend to be a good snack. The choices in the store for nuts with some flavor are few and far between, so I want to learn how to make homemade.
~Basic Roasted Nuts and Seeds
~Cinnamon Roasted Almonds.
~Honey Roasted Almonds
~Cajun Spiced Nuts - - Cajun Spice Mix
~Asian Spiced Nuts - wonder how this would work without the soy sauce.
~Rosemary Roasted Nuts
~Chai Spiced Almonds
~Sugar and Spiced Candied Nuts
~Orange Spiced Nuts
Course. I have never put cheese in pesto. Enjoy the nuts.
ReplyDeleteI use a mixture of olive oil, garlic, and basil for "pesto" now. Not quite the same as cheesy pesto, but I find it quite good. Adding pine nuts and a little rice milk helps to keep the consistency creamier, too.
ReplyDeleteThose nuts sound good!
I'll have one of everything, thanks. ;) But I want the dairy version of the pesto. I keep insisting that being the granddaughter of a dairy farmer makes me NEED dairy...
