Double Knitting Adventures

Well, I took on a test-knit, mostly because I wanted to learn to double knit and having a dead line would really make me work on it.

So here is my project so far, it is a scarf . . . I know, I know, I don't do scarves, but it's an easy and repetitious way to learn a new technique. I ended up having to start over about 4 or 5 times to get the technique and tension right, but now it is going good.

Yarn: Vanna's Choice
Color: Black
Content: 100% Acrylic
Care: Machine wash and dry

Yarn: Red Heart Super Saver
Color: BonBon Print
Content: 100% Acrylic

Needles: US 5

I chose these yarns mainly for there contrast and think that it was a good choice as they really make the pattern stand out.

  1. It looks wonderful! I like how the cast on edge looks, and the edge on the side looks neat too. This really makes me think about doing double knitting again some time in the future.

  2. Those colors remind me of the leg warmers we wore as kids. We were awesome.

  4. Ooh, I really like it. The double knitting does a great job of interrupting the color repeats to avoid pooling, too. The yarns work beautifully together!
