February Goals

Ah, January is over. Is it fair to sigh in relief for a month being over? It just wasn't that great of a month as things go! My goals for January might have well have not even existed, with this project at work, I just don't have the time, nor the get up and go, to work out every day and eat only at home. It's sad, but true, it didn't work out so well.

So onto February:

Unfortunately, the project at work looks like it is going to be extended . . . possibly through out the year . . . yes, I know . . . it'll technically not be the same project, but more projects like this one after another. It's going to be a LONG 2012 with plenty of overtime. This is good for finances and saving up for a house, but bad for my time management, I don't do well on short amounts of sleep!

I did achieve some stuff, we donated our faithful, but falling apart car to charity, because it wasn't worth fixing anymore. I finished up one more of my 2011 Pay It Forward gifts(will post about tomorrow). I tried to post more. Not much else.

So Goals for February:

~ We have a car we are seriously considering purchasing, it's a 1997 Subaru Impreza/Outback Sport. It's old and has a nice chunk of mileage, but it appears to be a good car and it's cheap. I am going this weekend (yeah for having a Saturday off!!!) and checking on two things - one is is an automatic, I am just not coordinated enough to drive a stick shift, and two to test drive it to see how it runs. If all goes well, we may get it this weekend.

~ Finish other Pay It Forward 2011 gift for Monika. I have started, but am taking my time to make them special. With a Saturday off this weekend I should be able to finish them up.

~ Write up my notes for the Vetter Baby Sweater into a pattern, possibly start math for other sizes.

~ TRY to cook more at home.

~ Exercise 3 times a week. (compromises, gotta start somewhere.

So the goals aren't that grand, but life is busy and I need to slowly work things into my schedule. Having a car will help cut down on my commute time, but diminish my knitting time. When one works 7am-5pm and has an hour to an hour and a half commute each way, there just isn't a whole lot else manageable once you've walked the dog and made an attempt to feed yourself! :) But I am going to try my best.

  1. Got to start some where and there are only so many hours in the day.... work seems to be taking up most of them.

  2. You know, walking the dog is exercise too! I learned to drive stick shift. Didn't know anything else existed until we came to Canada. It's so much more fun to drive with stick shift, once it's second nature to you. But I think the other way around is not so easy to learn.

  3. Love Subarus. I've never owned one, but I know many people who have kept them "forever".

I am grateful for my 20 minute (tops) commute.

  4. Manageable goals seem like a good thing to me. Long hours and a long commute don't leave much time for anything else. Hope February is a little better for you!
