New Food

Spicy Vegetable Soup

This is something simple I was making myself some times to eat and the boy wanted to try it, now he likes it and has even asked me to make it a couple of times. Sometimes it has chicken in it, but sometimes just veggies.

In the smallest amount of water needed, I boil frozen corn, carrots, broccoli, and sometimes cooked chicken together. For seasoning, add Instant Chicken Bouillon(I add the amount recommended on the package for the amount of water I used and then add one more servings worth, the saltiness is a nice contrast to the spicy) and Spicy Thai Chili Sauce (here it just depends on how spicy you want it). When it comes to a boil, turn the heat down to low and drop in a couple servings of rice noodles(I prefer rice noodles to any other kind of noodle) and let it sit while the rice noodles soften. I usually let it sit for a little longer than the package says, just to make sure the noodles are well cooked. And serve. Very yummy!

  1. Very interesting. I tried to make a dish last night: Mango Chicken. I didn't like it a bit. I learned that I am not a soy sauce person. It is just way to salty in a bad way. I put how much they said but it was gross. The boy said it was ok but me I couldn't even finish mine or keep it down! Won't be making that dish again. I need to stick with the recipe sites I usually go to and not venture into unknown recipes :) Ha ha.

  3. That's so funny...I used to make something similar. I loved it but my roommates thought I was off my rocker! I'm going to make it this weekend!
