Mary's Blankets 3/1/07

These blankets were crocheted for a girl I work with who is having twins. At the time she didn't know the sex of the babies so I made them with purple, blue, green, yellow, and pink so there were colors for either sex. Since they would be twins of some sort though, I made each blanket different so they could have a little variance. Yesterday she found out she will be having identical twin boys and unfortunately they will most likely becoming in about a month and a half, which she had hoped they wouldn't be so early.

Here is baby blanket A, it was made from a book I own called Woman's Day Prize Winning Granny Squares. It is made from Lion Brand Homespun Yarn and crocheted with a size K hook.

Here is a close-up of the bauble stitch and where the squares where attached to each other.

Here is baby blanket B. It is made of the same yarn and with the same hook, only octagons were made, instead of squares.

Two detail pics.

And a couple pics of the back so you can see the seaming on the octagons and the yellow squares between them.

There are more pictures of the second blanket because I had forgotten to take pictures of the first one and then ask the mother to take a couple pictures and she felt unsure what to do when she was taking them. Enjoy looking.
